The US Forest Service is hosting a webcast featuring Sam Sherrill, Associate Professor, University of Cincinnati, on Thursday, April 24th at 11:00 a.m. (EDT). The author of Harvesting Urban Timber, Sam also recently completed an unprecedented survey of urban wood use potential for Southeast Michigan. New Dovetail Report Discusses Urbanwood.org

The new report, Urban Tree Utilization and Why It Matters from Dovetail Partners' Dr. Steve Bratkovich, discusses the availability of urban wood resources, the major constraints to using this wood, and examples of successful urban wood industries.
Ohio EAB Team Visits Urbanwood Retail Site

Four members of the Ohio Emerald Ash Borer Task Force visited the Urbanwood retail site at Recycle Ann Arbor to learn more about the reclaimed wood marketing effort. The team hopes to start a similar program in their state. Thanks to Amy Stone and Kathy Smith, you can see the same great wood products in this video.
RC&D, DNR, & RAA to Receive FSMIP Grant

The Southeast Michigan RC&D Council, together with the Michigan DNR and Recycle Ann Arbor, has been selected for a $47,410 grant from the USDA Federal and State Marketing Improvement Program. These funds will support efforts to market locally made urban wood products. (Learn more)
